i do full analogue photos. one shot only. no second try - never. one shot per object. that's it. if the result turns out to be interesting, touching and attracting – fine. for me that’s the only way to capture moments on film.
i also don’t do any kind of “postproduction” or “manipulation” afterwards – just the printout and that’s it! i call it the “forrest-gump-approach”. it’s like with a box of pralines: you can never know what’s inside. and that’s exactly what happens when you push the shutter of the camera. the results will only be visible after the film has been developed. so you have to be patient.
the collection of my pictures reflect various different spots and places in our environment/streets – consequently the name “feet on the street ” was born. that’s the underlying bracket which holds them all together – done all in the same way: capturing what is seen through the viewer of the camera.
and another thing which these pictures as well have in common is the way how the motifs caught my attention – with emotions. ideally the viewer will enter into an invisible interaction via the fotos. it should raise questions in it’s head when watching it. i am of the opinion that an interesting foto should raise more questions than providing answers.
